the murders continue..

oh no bear
Two more fish in my tank have been murdered. I am pretty sure I know who's doing it. It's gotta be the stripidy guy. He looks a little fishy. he just flaps his gills at me when I try to interrogate him. I am going to isolate his fishy ass for a while, see if the killing stops.
One of the other cichlids had babies, and the valentine catfish couple are now a trio (I have no fucking idea how I went from two full-grown catfish to 3 full-grown catfish).
That's all the news for now.

Last Wed, the little cleaner-fish, a valentine catfish (named after my GF cuz she's a chronic cleaner)in my new tank went missing. Saturday I found what was left of the body. Was it murder? fishacide? Natural causes? We may never know. I went and bought two valentine catfish to replace her (does this mean I get two GFs if the current one leaves?). This morning I found the body of the orange Cichlid, nose down in the plants, dead. She swims no more with the fishes. Could we have a serial fish-killer on our hands? Was it the blue one in the big cave with the candlestick? Was it the yellow one in the garden with the rope? They all look suspicious to me, they refuse to blink. The little teeny tiny guy has a temper, but the victim was much larger than him, so it's unlikely. They say if you don't catch the murderer in the first 24 hours you are unlikely to catch them at all, so I have the dog doing surveillance while I am at work, she had better not be sleeping on the job.

I don't remember if I mentioned that my favorite boss gave me a bunch of gift checks for xmas. Well he did. I have been delighting in taking my time choosing what to spend them on. I used one of them to get some really cool vintage cowboy boots I wanted, and this weekend I spent the rest on the coolest, most perfect-est, 44 gallon corner-shaped fish tank and stand. I have wanted this exact set-up for several years but couldn't justify spending the money, and didn't want to settle for a lesser set-up. Well, my neighbor's niece had the exact set-up I wanted and she needed to sell it (she hadn't used it in a year) to afford an engineering camp her son wants to go to this summer (this little 7 year old she has is a freakin genius!). So thanks to my wonderful boss, I got my dream tank, and a little geek gets to go to camp! Pretty cool huh?
