So, I haven’t been posting much lately. I’d like to say it’s been because I have been so busy having fun, but alas, that is not the reason. I don’t know if it’s peri-menopause , depression, or that I really am just a moody bitch, but all I seem to be able to spew lately is negative cranky crap and there doesn’t seem much point in doing that .

So here is a list of happy things;
I have a job
I have a home
I have a loving partner (who is a GREAT kisser and spoils me rotten)
I have a dog who loves me
I have new horse friends who let me brush them and snuggle them
I have at least 80% functioning body parts (my own) on any given day
My little co-coordinator is a hoot
Beer
Otters
Polar Bears
Ducks
Squirrels (yes Syd, both kinds)
Naughty Ravens and Crows
Doggie paws that smell like corn chips
Throwing garden slugs into Evil Neighbor’s yard (yes, I am juvenile)
Watching the tiny newborns get discharged from the hospital every afternoon

Ok, well that made me feel a bit better.

My Honey took me through the diamond district Sat to pick the kind of setting I want for my engagement ring. Pretty cool huh?

I may have solved my boredom problem. Here’s how;

1. I found a research group who needs a volunteer conservation biologist to monitor the river area by my house. I can do that. I like to do that. (I know, I’m a dork). This will give me exercise and make my brain happy.
2. I think I have secured lab space to process all the samples I collected from the southern territory of the birds I did my thesis on (that could get me from Master’s to Phd, can you imagine, Dr. Otter?)
3. Training my dog to shut-the-fuck-up when people walk by our house.

That ought to keep me busy for a bit.

it was sooo good!

This past Sat was my partner's birthday. She loves Alaskan Crab legs. I remembered that a blogger I follow owns a clam house in CT so I e-mailed her and got the info. So off we went to the Mansion Clam House in Westport CT.
OMG! The place was adorable! Just what a clam house should be. The service was fantastic, and we got to meet (I think she said I could say it, but I am not 100% sure, so I won't). I have never met a blog-pal in real life before. We were happy to find that not only did she only have one head, she was totally charming and spoiled us rotton. Oh, and the crab! I have never seen such huge portions of crab. We were planning on giving in and eating a few orders each. We didn't need to, we were full. I don't know if that was their usual portion size or if it was more of us being spoiled, but wow. Y'all should go there, really, like now, I'll drive.

I can't wait!!

24 hours from now I will be halfway to the Keys. Halfway to roasting my flesh on a hot beach, snorkeling and chasing the fishies. My poor partner really hates to fly, but she does love to be tan (lucky b*tch has that gets-darker-than-dark Puerto Rican skin), so once we are on the ground the party will commence! Until we are on the ground, she'll be a bit of a wreck (is 6 a.m. too early to get her drunk for the flight?)
