mad scientist

Maybe we should list this as an adverse event on this drug trial. I don't remember him looking like this when he got here.

I really need to get a hobby...

The chair of our department (my top boss) was showing a fella around our department. He took him into the room where Sim Man lives. Sim Man was in his Viking hat. The guy he was showing him to? The new C.E.O of our hospital. I hope my boss keeps his usual sense of humor!

one of those days..

Ever seen a laptop fly? Look down 12th street in about 2 minutes and you will be able to answer yes to that question from then on.
I have a list of things to ponder today, care to join me?

  1. Who decided construction workers get to drink in the Mexican place up the street at lunch time and research coordinators don’t?
  2. Who told men it was ok to wear striped shirts and patterned ties? With tube socks?
  3. Why do I pay a dog walker $400/mo when my dog uses wee-wee pads?
  4. Why does my dog poop right on the edge of the pad so a tiny bit gets on the wood floor? Every time!
  5. Why was I not born filthy rich?
  6. How many times can I page my co-worker to consent a non-existent patient before she hits me?
  7. How many times can I dress up Sim Man before my boss says “hey, cut that out! That’s a 40K piece of equipment!”
  8. Why do I always seem to be the only one in a hurry getting out of the subway, does no one else work??
  9. How does the crazy gospel nut on the train always find the car I am in?
  10. Why do they always put the price tag over the list of songs on the back of a CD? We are not all Duane or Deb, the music encyclopedias, with this knowledge already in our heads!!!

Oh happy Monday!!

No I am not being a smart-ass. I really am in a good mood. Friday night we had the graduation bash for our residents who are now out in the world as practicing physicians (don't get sick this summer). While at the bash, one of the doctors I work with told me about this gay outdoor adventure type group he belongs to http://www.sundanceoutdoor.org he claims gals are very welcome (many of these groups are not crazy about lesbians). They go hiking and kayaking etc. I can't wait!!! I am ready to paddle at a moment's notice!
In honor of Pride month, Sim Man got dressed up on Friday but was not allowed to go out.

Saturday I drove up to NH to see my family. We went to the cliffs in Rockport MA where my brother is getting married next month and then to Gloucester for dinner. We got my Dad a gift card for a new gas grill for Father's day so we went to pick one out on Sunday. It was a great weekend.

Oh yeah, Friday night I met the hetero version of me. One of my favorite docs started dating this woman a few months ago and when I asked him what she was like he responded "you, she's like you." He brought her to the party Friday night, she *is* like me! Within 30 minutes we were finishing each other's sentences and laughing so hard we scared the wait staff. She even loves brussle sprouts and asparagus! It was big fun.

When all else fails to amuse you..
