I was expecting to defend my thesis in Dec. turns out it will have to be in Oct.

I had 4 really crappy days off (too fatigued to get off the couch), I am driving to Nova Scotia on Sat and am nowhere near ready, when I got to work this morning the head of our practice dumped a high school junior on me for a month. What the hell? I DO NOT LIKE TEENS!!!!!! I do not have time to babysit! She can't help with anything because she is not old enough to be certified in research on humans. I didn't sign up to be a wet-nurse! I guess her Dad is a friend of our dept. head so I get stuck doing the f^ing favor! This sucks royally!
It seems the train gods read my tweets. Today was the day they put the baby powder scent in all the trains and train stations. They do it once or twice a year.
My GF has a board meeting tonight so I treated myself to chicken tikka Marsala and a kingfisher beer in grand central. This day is looking up

To celebrate my one year anniversary of my hip surgery, I brought my folding bike on the train and will ride from Grand Central to my job (just over 2 miles). Here's hoping the hip holds up!

When I lived in Boston I had friends with interests and passions, causes and hobbies. I don't have a single friend here with the ability to have a deep conversation, or the slightest passion about anything. I hate it here.

The orthopod I was working in the O.R. With today saw me limping and insisted on checking my hip under the fluroscope. There is a lot of freaking pain and/or surgery in my future. Even I could see the damage in there. Crap.
That's what I get for being cranky about the coffee dude. I worked food service jobs for 18 years ( in addition to other jobs ), so I don't usually get pissy about that stuff. PMS and peri-menopause- not a great combo

before y'all report me... she was in my lap, her harness was attached to the seatbelt AND I had a tight hold on part of her harness.For today I am once again a grad student. I forgot how much I loved grad school lunches with my fellow biologists.

This makes me nuts. A friend has started to date someone, people in our "community" are giving her shit about it. "you're not ready", "she looks too much like (insert late lover's name)" "it's too soon" etc. WTF? She nursed her late lover through almost two years of hell before she died. She's entitled to be happy!!! She has found someone who is bringing her some joy, leave her the fuk alone! Jeez!
